The places where we sit, the air we breathe, the
things we hold are ful l of germs and viruses, but
we are unable to see them. Germs and viruses are
sma l l o r gan i sms t ha t caus e d i s eas e s i n human
beings. We cannot see them with our eyes but they
can cause us to become sick and to lose strength.
There are other organisms we are unable to see.
These make up the army that l ives inside us and
protects us against our germ and vi rus enemies .
This army is cal led the “Immune System”.
Our immune system exists within our blood. The
cel ls that make up our immune system are cal led
the white blood cel ls.

Somet imes the army in our body wins the batt le
wi thout us fee l ing i t and the germs and v i ruses
die.
