Now it was time for breakfast for the entire

community. After breakfast, another meeting was

arranged to impart religious knowledge which

dwelt on forming a proper relationship with the

Lord and trusting Him alone in all our affairs. This

meeting concluded with prayers. The Chief (Emir)

prayed, to which the others said Amen. The

powerlessness of man and the all-powerfulness of

God was emphasized. Feelings of love and fear for

God so touched people’s hearts as to make them

cry. After this prayer, the despatching of missionary

groups was attended to. Lists of those who had

offered their services for this work were drawn up

according to the areas to which they were to be

despatched. The names of those people who were

undertaking the journey were called out one by one,

and each in turn came up to the chief to shake

hands with him and receive his blessings before he

departed. Such a poignant scene evoked memories

of the Prophet sitting in the Masjid-e-Nabawi,

exhorting people and sending them out in groups to

propagate the message to those who were ignorant.

The Emir shook hands with each of them and

wished them well with the invocation: “I entrust

you to God and pray for you. May God accept our
