altogether as worthless. That is why we deliberately
avoided the help of the news media. But now,
owing to our devoted volunteers who have worked
hard to spread the mission among the people, it has
become as clear as the day. The people themselves
are now flocking to us in order to learn more and
more. We have a large number of devoted people
who can be sent to any part of the country wherever
the need arises. There is no point in our sticking to
the initial method of working when the times have
changed. I recommend therefore, that you take up
your pens to further the cause of this mission.” He
commented a number of times that they functioned
according to the capacities of the people at their
disposal. “If we had people with a different set of
abilities, we would have expanded our work in
other directions too.” His thoughts on the use of the
written word, may be summarized thus:
“Whenever a new movement is launched, the most
important task is that of proper introduction. The
need is felt for the preacher to approach the
congregation personally. But a time comes when the
