Fatimah [r], the dear-
est and the most beloved daughter
of the Prophet [s] lived a very sim-
ple life. Even though she was the
daughter of the most powerful man
in all Arabia she would do all the
household chores herself. She
would even grind the grain into flour
for her daily bread. This hard work
caused blisters on her delicate
hands. She also carried water from
the well in a leather water bag,
which left bruises on her shoulders.
