Yusuf [a] would hear all this
falsehood and foolishness and he
felt sad. He would often weep for
the ignorance of the people. He
desired nothing more than to call
them to the worship of the one true
God and Creator of all things, Allah.
Allah too desired that people be
taught about him, even the
wretched ones in prison. Did they
not deserve to be guided too? Did
they not deserve Allah’s mercy? Are
the people in prison not servants of
Allah and are they not the sons of
Adam [a] too? Yes, indeed!

Allah, generous and open-hearted.
