CHAPTER 20
Now the brothers had a serious
problem indeed. How could they
face their father, who had taken a
solemn pledge from them to bring
Binyamin back?
They pleaded with
Nabi
Yusuf [a] to
free Binyamin, “
Noble prince!, this
boy has an aged father who loves
him dearly. Take one of us instead
of him. We can see that you are a
kind man
.”
But
Nabi
Yusuf [a] turned down the
request saying, “
Allah forbid that we
should take anyone other than the
man with whom our property was
found. If we took someone else, we
would be wrongdoers
.”
