TERRIBLE CONSEQUENCES
Plain Truth,
a well-known American magazine with
a world-wide circulation of 7,850,000, published an
article entitled ‘Teen Pregnancy’ along with a
photograph of Sally, an American teenager. The
article included a letter written by Sally, which,
though short, is painful and shocking:
When I was 8 years old I first had sex with a
boy of 15. I did it because I lack love and
attention from my parents. I need love, and
my parents never show me any. Nothing
really changed at home, and at 15 I became
pregnant. My boy friend blamed me and left. I
had nowhere to turn, I was trapped, so I had
an abortion. Now I’m afraid to date anyone,
and I cry myself to sleep every night.
