Caliph Muawiyah was reminded by Amr ibn
Murrah of this saying of the Prophet: “The ruler
who closes his door to the poor and needy will find
that in his own greatest time of need, God has
closed the gates of heaven to him.”

The best way to have your revenge on one who has
disobeyed God in some matter concerning you, is to
obey God in whatever concerns him,” said Umar.

PATIENCE THE BEST ARMOUR
Ahnaf ibn Qays belonged to the generation, which
came after that of the Prophet’s companions. He
once remarked, “One who cannot tolerate one
single unpleasant remark will have to listen to
