But the Prophet himself could not
leave, for he had not been given
permission by Allah yet . And so he
remained in the city, with his close
friend Abu Bakr [r] and his young
cousin Ali [r], the son of Abu Talib.
The wicked Quraysh met secretly
and planed their evil plots. Abu Jahl,
the most wicked of them, spoke,
“
Let each family among us send a
young, strong man to wait outside
Muhammad's house tonight. They
must stay there all night, and in the
morning, when he comes out, they
must strike him with their swords, all
at once
.”
They plotted and planed, but Allah
also plans, and Allah is the best of
planners.
That very night, the angel Jibra'il
warned
