people of Madinah had embraced
Islam and the numbers of Muslims

The Holy prophet Muhammad [s]
built the famous
Masjid an-Nabawi
in Madinah for the Muslims to offer

salah
together.
Whenever the time for
salah
approached the people would call
out to one another saying, “
As-Salat
ul-Jama‘ah, the congregational
salah is about to begin.
” Whoever
heard this call came to join the
salah.
But the Muslims felt the need
to find a better way to call people
