millions and millions of tiny stars,
seemed to bring a person very
close to the Creator of all that beau-
ty.
For days, Muhammad would often
stay alone in the cave of Hira, which
was near the top of a mountain
called Jabal al-Nur, the Mountain of
Light, three miles from Makkah. He
would return home only for more
supplies of food and water, and
then go back to the solitude of
nature to pray and meditate, asking
the Creator of the heavens and the
earth for answers to all the ques-
tions that raced through his mind,
questions like : Who is the Creator
of all being? From where do human
