been in prison for as many years as
Nabi
Yusuf [a] was, and suddenly a
messenger from the King had come
to them and said, “
The King has
summoned you and wishes to hon-
our you,
” they would have surely
rushed to leave the prison. But
Nabi
Yusuf [a] calmly told the butler, “
I
shall not leave until my innocence
has been proven. I request from the
king to inquire into my case.”
The King immediately ordered an
investigation into
Nabi
Yusuf’s [a]
case. The noble ladies of the city,
the friends of Zulaykhah, were
asked, one by one, “
What do you
have to say about Yusuf?
” They all
answered in the very same manner,
“
He is innocent. He is not to blame
for what happened. He is the Noble
Yusuf.
”
